have been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences that I can't even begin to describe. Besides the complete disaster with my moving company, my mom breaking her shoulder when she cae to visit me and my upcoming layoff- I've had an amazing time and learned so much about nursing and myself that I wouldn't trade for the world.
Last Thursday I finished my 8 week preceptorship. I honestly feel like a completely different person. More confident and sure of myself than I've felt in a long time. Besides the "skill" aspect of it all, (15ish IV starts most of them on 3 # or less babies, countless deliveries, lab draws, working with patients who basically crash when I take them off CPAP for cares and assessments, working with kids with trachs, lines and ostomys, and even being the code recorder for almost 3 hours on my 1st code EVER.) I feel like I've grown mentally and pushed myself and gone waaaaaay outside my comfort zone-more than I ever thought possible. I've had amazing feedback from my 3 wonderful preceptors- this unit honestly has THE best nurses I have ever ever ever worked with in my entire nursing school career. I feel honored to work on a unit like this.........
...for however long this may be. Friday I recieved my official layoff/reassignment notice in the mail. By June 26th I'll know for sure whether or not I have a job and if I do what unit I've been reassigned to. This honestly depresses me. If I'm reassigned to a unit I don't want to be on there is a great possiblity that I may voluntarily move home. Without this job there is really no reason I would want to be in Spokane. The reassignment if given will be temporary and after the census picks up in the NICU I'd be transferred back. There is a really good possibility that my reassignment will be in L&D, thats my only positive outlook on this whole ordeal.
Anyways, I miss you all so so soooooo much and I promise to keep you updated ;)

insanity!!!
I made THREE baby hats today. I have a sick, sick obsession with making them!!!
After Stitches yesterday I was sooo inspired to become a better/ more advanced knitter. I want to learn so many things and it's my new goal to branch out in my knitting projects beyond the usual hats, scarves, blankets, bags etc.
We'll see how it goes ;)

Just a little update for your reading pleasure.
Thought I'd write a little update since I haven't in a while :)
I don't know if you all know this but I got a "new" car. It's actually an older car than my Focus but it's all time 4WD which will be muuuuch better for the snow. After my going away dinner Keenan told me something sounded wierd with my transmission or something?? (I seriously know NOTHING about cars) so I went and got it checked out. And thank goodness I did. They did all this crazy stuff to it and replaced my front & back brakes, did an oil change etc. It cost me over $800 but it's totally worth it to be driving a safer car. (So Tricia tell Kee I say "Thanks!!")
Although Valentine's was a couple weeks ago..Jesse and I had a great one!! He came over and I was planning on cooking him dinner. We exchanged presents. I got him this really cool sweatshirt-y jacket and he got me a PURPLE iPod nano! I was soooo excited :) The iPod I had before was so ghetto and old and he was so perfect getting me a purple nano, my fav color!! After we gave each other presents I told him I was going to make him fajitas but we needed to go to the grocery store. We were driving there and he was like "do you want to just go get burritos??" And I was like "yes!!" Haha so we went and picked up burritos from our favorite place Gourmet Pronto Burrito and went home and watched Eagle Eye. It was such a laid back, great night!!
So, to be completely honest I've been a big dumb stupid head..feeling sorry for myself etc because of all this moving DRAMA. But decided today when I woke up that "hey this isn't too bad! I get to relax, sleep in, still be with friends and family.. So what have I been moping around for??"
My moving truck was supposed to arrive in Spokane between the 18th and 22nd of February.. the new date they're telling me my things will be arriving is late next week/early next weekend. I'm going to live it up until then! I've had so much fun the past couple weeks having dinner and spending time with friends, visiting with my family and making a bazillion baby hats (I'm seriously going to be over stocked with them when I get there which is a GREAT thing :) ) Today I'm meeting Jesse for his lunch at work. Since he's been working his new job he gets hour long lunches and it's so nice to be able to see him during the day now!! After that, I'll be getting my drug test for work (which is great because it should speed things up at least a little bit when I get there) and I have to call the WA state Dept of Health to check the status of my WA, RN license. I neeeed it to be able to start work there. Tonight I'm going to go see Confessions of a Shopaholic with my friends Lisa and Dana. Aaaaaand tomorrow Stitches with Caroline which I'm extremely excited for!!! :) especially since I missed it altogether last year. And seriously...who would be a better person to go to stitches with!??
Sooo that's all.
xoxo

Bye Bye Stuff!
Welll- the moving van with all of my things left this morning. Yesterday was an intensely lonnnggg day. Monday I woke up at 6:30am, I didn't sleep Monday night in anticipation for checking my results ( I was so nervous..I mean to the point where my heart was racing and I felt completely and utterly SICK). Tuesday at 3:30am I found out that::::: I'M A NURSE and my parents and I immediately started packing and finishing up my application for my Washington license. We had to start packing right away because the moving company said if they didn't pick my stuff up today there wouldn't be another truck leaving for Washington for weeks. So luckily I passed just in time to get my things to Spokane. So ya my parents and I were wide awake and super busy from 3:30am to 9pm last night. I was so lucky to get everything together in time. But man was I exhausted last night, I hadn't slept in like 38 or so hours. I slept amazingly and got up at 7am today to hang out while the movers loaded all of my stuff. Crazy!
My grandma took me out yesterday and bought me dishes and silverware and towels and my mom bought me new sheets for my new apartment!! I can't wait for everyone to see my new place. I'm so excited but sooooooo nervous about how I'm going to be living alone in a new state. Jesse is getting really sad- it was really hard for him to help me pack my room up last night. He bought us webcams so we can talk to each other and see each other on skype. You guys have to get a webcam too so we can video chat :)
Other than that I'm being a lazy little nurse- and loving it :)

an attempt at posting pictures!
So I recently found this website called picnik.com which is an AWESOME picture editing website. I decided to try out some things with a few pictures to see how they turned out. Sooooo here it goes ;)

I just love how you can adjust the exposures, get rid of red eye and write sayings in cute fonts on your pictures.
Now that I've figured out how to post the blog with pictures I'll be able to show you all of the knitting projects I've been working on.
Anyways, you can obviously tell I've been bored beyond belief to have to resort to editing pictures to take up my time. LAME. In other news, I finished the 3rd Twilight book. Dannnng was it good. I seriously read it in 2 days. Tomorrow I'm going out and buying the 4th book- Breaking Dawn.
On a final note- I'm so frustrated and anxious with how long the process of getting our NCLEX results is taking. I'm not kidding I had 4 separate break downs today. This is SUCKS. I'm so depressed.. soo excited I get to go for a massage with Caroline tomorrow. I need a serious mental health day. I'm sure Jesse is getting overwhelmed from hearing me cry and complain all the time!

feb.
I've only come up with two February resolutions. And they areeee-
- BE PRODUCTIVE. Pretty vague I know but ever since I've taken the NCLEX I haven't had the motivation or desire to do anything with my free time (which is all my time). Already this month I've packed and good-willed most of my room.
-Run 3 days/ week. Because strangely enough I think I actually do enjoy running now.
Thats allll.
Besides the resolutions I've been Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse craaaazy. I am severely obsessed with this saga to the point it is taking control of my life and significantly cutting into my knitting time. I still haven't figured out how to post the pictures of my January projects on here without ruining the rest of the blog. So one day when I figure it out you'll be so amazed how many hats I've made ;)

Get ready for it.
By the end of this week I'm going to post my first picture blog with pictures of all the projects I've done so far in January. I have a feeling you'll be rather impressed ;)
On another note: I'm going to ABSOLUTELY FREAK OUT. I'm so intensely bored. Studying for the NCLEX is an extemely painful and frustrating experience. I just want to stop and take the test already..
On a final note: I miss my nursing girls. Can we plan a hang out sesh sometime in the very near future? Please and thank you. ♥

one last thing.
I think this year will be SOO amazing and we new nurse folk are going to learn and grow so much. GO us!!!!
my "new years resolution"
..is to not have a new years resolution.
Instead, I've decided to do monthly resolutions. I'm so motivated and ready to accomplish so many things this new year but I feel like concentrating on a couple every month is waaaaaay more attainable. Dontcha agree??
Resolution #1. Study for at least two hours everyday until I take the NCLEX. I think this is totally attainable seeing as though I have no job/ no life now that school is over. Aaaaaand at least I'll go into the test knowing I put forth a ton of effort. (I mean I've already studied more for this thing than I have for all my nursing school tests combined. Pretty sad. But true.)
Resolution #2. NO alcohol for the month of January. Okay, now this may seem like an alcoholic's new years resolution but there has been much "celebration" in my life this past month and I think my tummy and butt are showing the effects of it all. hahaha
Resolution #3. Take the dog for a walk at least 2-3 times a week. Yes, I'm a horrible pet owner for not having this as my normal everyday type of thing.
Resolution #4. Finish two baby hats/ week. I want to have a whole bunch before I leave and start my job in Washington. I know I'll definitely be able to do more than this after January/ the NCLEX is all over with.
SOOOO that's it! We'll see how I do.
